Pictured to the left are photos of an apartment in the complex most of our adults rent from.
However, it is not necessary to live on site to receive services.  The adult program was created
out of 2 concerns.  The first was that many of our clients were aging out of the system without
resources or even a place to live.  Some of our young men and women don't have a home to
return to and for others home is not a good option.

The second reasons is that many low intellectual functioning men and women need extra
support to live alone.  The adult residential program provides an place of their very own and the
support they need.

The adult program called Opportunities, utilizes the same teaching and learning principles as
the youth program.  The setting however, is semi-independent.  Our adults live in apartments,
usually with one other roommate.

Adult Care staff are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  There is a person/family
centered approach to care where all individuals provide input to the team.  The treatment team
determines when the man or woman is in need of support.  Staff focuses the support and
treatment around those times.  The focus is building on the young man or woman's strengths  to
develop and reinforce new skills to promote independence.

100% of our adults are female at this time
57% of our adults were referred by the department of developmental disabilities

behaviors.   It is our compassion for this population that we exist.
